Houston Texans owner Janice McNair's stroke at center of son's guardianship request

A stroke suffered by Texans principal owner Janice McNair is at the center of one of her son’s legal efforts to become her legal guardian, lawyers said in a downtown courtroom Friday morning. The legal showdown between members of one the region’s wealthiest families could change control of Houston’s NFL team, which just completed a winning season and a short playoff run. Janice McNair, 87, is fighting the legal move by Robert Cary McNair, her oldest son. Her lawyers argued Friday that doctors had recently evaluated Janice McNair and found her in good health. “She’s not seeking relief,” Janice McNair’s attorney Don Jackson said. “She got (dragged) here by her son.”
