Harris County Commissioner Cagle tests positive for COVID

Harris County Precinct 4 Commissioner Jack Cagle tested positive for COVID over the weekend, and will monitor meetings this week from home, according to his office. In an email, Cagle’s office said he began experiencing “mild, cold-like symptoms,” Saturday morning.

“Because he was visiting his elderly mother, Cagle, 61, took an at-home COVID test,” his office said in an email. Those results came back positive, so he immediately canceled all his public appearances. Cagle’s mother has tested negative. Harris County Commissioners Court is scheduled to meet Tuesday morning for their semi-monthly meeting. Under the terms of hybrid meetings allowed since shortly after the pandemic began, Cagle can participate online from home.
