Explosions threatened at multiple Texas State University buildings on San Marcos campus

Flyers threatening explosions at multiple buildings on Texas State University’s San Marcos campus were recovered Tuesday morning, according to a news release issued by the university. The threats, which were later deemed not to be credible, cited the Jowers, theater, chemistry and educational buildings as targets and warned of possible explosions throughout the week. The university’s police department swept the buildings and surrounding areas. And although students and faculty were not evacuated from campus, the university increased its police presence. Multiple law enforcement agencies responded to the incident, including the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives; the University of Texas at Austin Police Department; the Homeland Security Department; and the FBI.
