AG candidate Joe Jaworski makes stop in Corpus Christi: Here are his priorities
Democrat Joe Jaworski, a former Galveston mayor and the grandson of legendary Watergate special prosecutor Leon Jaworski, announced he would be entering his name in the running for Texas attorney general last summer.
Jaworski and Republican Texas land Commissioner George P. Bush, who is the grandson of former President George H. W. Bush, both have their eyes on the incumbent Ken Paxton.
Paxton, who has been under indictment on securities fraud charges since 2015, was recently endorsed by former President Donald Trump.

With Jaworski being the only Democrat running for the position so far, the former Galveston mayor is planning to make the 2022 race all about ethics, character and public trust.
Jaworski made a stop at the Nueces County Democratic Party on Saturday for a meet and greet with Coastal Bend residents.
The Corpus Christi Caller-Times had the opportunity to ask Jaworski some questions regarding his campaign before the event:
What is the message you hope to get across to the people of Nueces County?
Said Jaworski, "The main message is, there is hope for 2022 for the first time in decades. We will elect a democrat to a statewide office for the first time in a generation. The reason there's hope is because this is a change election, because it's about integrity. It's an integrity election. So that's my first prong of why there's hope. The second is voting rights have always been important, I mean, since 1776. But now, they're under attack to such an extreme that I think the sleeping giant has been awakened. Enough people, I think, are alarmed at the gamesmanship that appears to be underway, that voting rights are essential to American democracy, and therefore Texas democracy, and people will be motivated to vote. So integrity, anti corruption and voting rights are the main messages as to why there is hope."
