Greg Abbott is now asserting his executive authority in the fight over whether a death row inmate can be summoned to testify before a *Texas House* committee today. Citing the *Texas Constitution’s Separation of Powers Clause, Abbott’s general counsel James Sullivan* asked the *Texas Supreme Court* to “dismiss the House Committee’s petition for lack of jurisdiction.” The argument was in a letter sent overnight.
