People on the Move
Staffer moves, university news, party politics, and more
You know,
it really was one of the smallest Republican Party of Texas conventions
any of us can remember. When Mr. Kronberg walked into the convention
hall last Friday, he quipped that the attendance was “like a Texas
Democratic Party convention. Sparse.”
As we
reported Sunday, one of the major takeaways was that despite all the calls from
party leadership for “unity,” senior Republicans including Sen. John Cornyn
and Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick continue to feud. “Patrick is worried about
losing in November,” Cornyn said, adding “He should be.”
For those
of you who didn’t attend but have a morbid curiosity about it, we’ll take you inside
the convention on the latest edition of the Quorum Report Radio podcast
dropping later today. That, plus a trip to the RGV is in store as we figure out
what the “Mexican tune” is. You’ll want to hear this. The links to follow the show are on the Quorum Report homepage.
Meantime,
some significant players made moves at the Texas Capitol this
week. So, it’s time for People on the Move – the most efficient
way to let everyone around here know what you or a friend is up to career-wise.
Hit me up anytime with the scoop at ksbraddock@gmail.com.
If you use POTM in the subject line, it helps me keep track. And yes, it is
okay to text it to me but don’t be surprised if I can’t find your text by
Friday morning.
Thank you so
much. Here’s the latest edition.
