Speaker candidate Cook releases list of GOP Texas House supporters including members who would like to remain confidential

After a draft of supporters was leaked, Rep. Cook’s campaign released a list of GOP supporters numbering 48 but 2 are listed as “confidential”

After a draft list of Texas House GOP supporters of Rep. David Cook for speaker was leaked and ended up in my twitter feed, the Cook campaign released its official list late Friday afternoon.

That’s after a week of criticism that no list was made public following that meeting at County Line BBQ in Austin last Friday when Rep. Cook emerged as the “reformer caucus” endorsed candidate for speaker.

Both the draft and the list released by Cook’s campaign claim the support of 48 members. But notably, both lists include slots that just say “confidential.”
