Updated: John Pitts, Sr. suffered a heart attack at the Capitol.

He is in stable condition, alert and making jokes, we're told

John Pitts Jr released this statement about his father:

“We can confirm that he had what appears to be a mild heart attack. He is not only stable, but relaxed and cracking jokes at the hospital. We are very grateful for the immediate help of the DPS and Andrew Blifford, Drs Bonnen and Oliverson, and Rep Howard tonight and appreciate the outpouring of support from all of our friends across the Capitol community. We will share more information when we can and thank you all for your continued prayers.”
