Gov. Abbott bombs GOP Texas House districts with pro voucher texts prompting former Speaker Phelan to say he is undecided

"Right now, my focus is on listening to my constituents, understanding the potential impact on our communities, and ensuring that any decision I make reflects the best interests of families and students,” said Phelan, whose district office was getting inundated with calls from voters against it

Even though he claims to have the votes already, Gov. Greg Abbott's campaign is firebombing GOP primary voters across the state with text messages encouraging them to call their Texas House members in support of school vouchers.

"This is Governor Greg Abbott. Please contact your State Representative Cody Harris to thank him for supporting my school choice plan," reads one of the text messages to voters in parts of East Texas. "My plan empowers parents to choose the best pathway for their child's education."

Then the voter is asked to call and email Rep. Harris. Other districts where the texts were received included the ones represented by Mike Olcott, former Speaker Dade Phelan, and more.
