Rasmussen moves the Texas race for governor from "safe Republican" to "leans Republican"
The needle has also moved among women, the poll finds
There is a "slightly closer" race for governor
in Texas than there was back in March, the Rasmussen polling firm said in a
survey released Friday. Rasmussen moved the contest between AG Greg Abbott and Sen. Wendy Davis from "safe Republican"
to "leans Republican" on their
map of U.S. gubernatorial races.
The last time the Republican-leaning polling firm did a
snapshot of this race, it found a 12 point lead for Abbott. It now shows an 8
point spread, with Abbott getting 48 percent to Davis' 40 percent. 9 percent
are undecided in this poll.
