Rep. Jolanda Jones says her son did not have an inappropriate relationship with intern in her office

“I cannot sit quietly and allow members of my staff to be wrongfully publicly identified, denigrated and demeaned at the hands of former employees.”

Saying she welcomes a Texas House General Investigating Committee probe and looks “forward to being vindicated of any wrongdoing,” Rep. Jolanda Jones on Wednesday said she could not stay quiet about a specific part of the allegations made about her son, who was accused by former staff of having an affair with an intern.

“Since learning of these specific allegations last Wednesday, I have had the opportunity to visit with the remaining members of my staff and have gained more insight into this matter,” the Houston Democrat said in a written statement issued today.
