After arguments in Mississippi case, Supreme Court of the United States seems poised to roll back at least some of Roe V Wade
Observers of today’s
arguments over Mississippi’s 15-week abortion ban expect the U.S. Supreme
Court to roll back at least some of the rights granted under Roe
v Wade and Casey v Planned Parenthood, if not an outright
reversal of abortion rights.
A decision on Dobbs
v Jackson Women’s Health (the only
abortion clinic in Mississippi) is expected in either June or July, heading
right into the general election.
Mississippi went for broke
in its arguments, saying Roe v Wade lacked constitutionality, and all decisions
on abortion rights should be returned to states.
