Fight brewing in the Texas House over qualifying third party candidates for the ballot
Critics of Mayes Middleton’s HB 4416 say it would make it nearly impossible for third party candidates to run in Texas, some Republicans worry it might cause libertarians to simply challenge them in their own primaries

perhaps bitter partisan fight may break out on the floor of the Texas
House late this afternoon or this evening over the question of how
tough it should be for third party candidates to qualify for the ballot.
HB4416 by Mayes Middleton would make
it a lot harder.
