With hurricane season around the corner, Commissioner Bush files Harvey housing action plan
With Congress moving at a snail’s pace on this and just about everything else, it doesn’t appear many communities ravaged by Harvey will see money before this fall
Texas Land Commissioner George P. Bush this week
filed a State Action Plan with the U.S. Department of
Housing and Urban Development to outline uses for $5 billion in
community development block grant funds that will come to the state in the wake
of Hurricane Harvey.
The 200-page State Action Plan was filed this week with
HUD, Bush told the
House County Affairs Committee Thursday morning.
Now the federal department has up to 45 days to review
and act upon the plan so that the fund can be drawn down for reimbursements.
