Texas education plan due to the feds today requires long list of changes

The review notes the turmoil around the drafting, and redrafting, of the controversial A-F system over the last two sessions, citing gaps in various information

The Texas Education Agency has a lengthy list of fixes to its accountability system – some easy and some difficult – that must be submitted to Department of Education today.

The most comprehensive peer review of the Texas plan, by the Collaborative for Student Success, praised the plan for its orientation toward career and college readiness; its range of innovative interventions for low-performing schools; and a commitment to improve school board and district leadership, which has been driven by Deputy Commissioner A.J. Crabill.
