TEA announces sweeping exemption from ratings for hurricane-impacted districts
The Texas Education Agency has posted its
rule that likely will govern which Hurricane Harvey-impacted
schools will be exempt from accountability ratings for the upcoming school
year.
School campuses and charters are not named in the rule,
but the bar for exempting a campus is only 10 percent of students impacted by
Hurricane Harvey. Impacted is defined as attending another school district,
another campus or being declared homeless.
