HHSC makes moves to change contracting practices, expects long-term overhaul of procurement department a priority

Acting COO Ford only joined HHSC last October as chief policy officer; now tasked with biggest challenge of the agency

The Health and Human Resources Commission expects to post a contract in the next week for a consultant to come into the agency and overhaul its contract practices.

Acting Chief Operations Officer Victoria Ford updated the House Human Services Committee this week on the ongoing actions to address contracting issues at the health and human service agencies, which have been highlighted in recent state audits.
