in response to a push for government-mandated
paid sick leave by some cities, among other things, many of Texas’ premier
business groups on Monday announced a new coalition aimed at protecting “state
sovereignty by passing a statewide law to preempt local governments from
unilaterally enacting piecemeal local employment and labor laws.”
