With fight over managed lanes brewing, North Texas seals deal on Dallas toll project
$430M in state discretionary funds now committed; leaders say managed lanes are misunderstood while North Texas senators voice their opposition
North Texas leaders have sealed the deal on the majority of funding to complete a $1.8 billion segment
635 East through Dallas, Mesquite and Garland.
This will be the first time the Texas Transportation Commission
has applied its discretion to push Category 12 money toward
significant road projects in the state, an extension of the board’s Texas
Clear Lanes program.
