Emotional debate surrounds finding additional funding for nursing homes

Sheffield’s attempt to pull down a new stream of Medicaid funding for nursing homes drew small but vocal opposition
from the coalition of nonprofit providers this morning.
the wheat from the chaff in Medicaid funding is always complicated.
can agree to this session is that no general revenue has been found to increase
reimbursement rates for nursing homes and that about 70 percent of nursing home
providers have signed on to the creation of a federal matching fund under the Nursing
Facility Reinvestment Allowance.
