Coalition calls for easing process of candidates qualifying for the ballot in Texas

for Voters Choice –
a new coalition calling for “freedom of choice at the polls” – is pushing for
lawmakers to pass House Bill 3068, deemed the Texas Voter Choice Act.
legislation, authored by Rep. Ron
Reynolds, D- Missouri City, would change the number of petition signatures
required when running for statewide office to 10,000, charges the secretary of
state with creating an internet portal system for voters to sign nomination
petitions and eliminates certain filing requirements.
