Amid questions about owning automaker and dealer, Warren Buffett arriving at Texas Capitol
Buffett is set to meet with Patrick and Abbott. Because of Berkshire Hathaway’s interests in both an automaker and dealerships – potentially facing complications because of the three-tier system – Buffett may seek legislative relief
The
billionaire head of Berkshire Hathaway, legendary investor Warren Buffett, arrived in Austin today to meet with Gov. Greg Abbott and Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick while speculation mounts that
he may be seeking legislative relief because his company may be in violation of
the Texas auto industry’s three-tiered system.
In
2015 – after the last legislative session – Berkshire Hathaway purchased all of
the Van
Tuyl properties in the US, including
automotive dealerships in Texas.
