After visit with Abbott and Patrick, Warren Buffett's bill moves at lightning speed in Senate
Different carve outs with different support; TADA supports Buffett’s proposed exemption but not one for Cummins in a different bill
Following
a surprise Texas Capitol visit by billionaire investor Warren Buffett this week, the Senate
Business and Commerce Committee on Thursday moved quickly to shepherd a
bill designed to help his automotive interests to the floor of the upper
chamber.
The
bill, Senate Bill 2279, was voted out of committee unanimously even
though the language is a work in progress and the bill itself was just
introduced the day after Buffett’s visit to the offices of Gov. Greg Abbott and Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick.
