Paxton prosecutor says defense team on fishing expedition

Wice says recent subpoenas seek evidence irrelevant to merits of case

The fight to get Attorney General Ken Paxton to trial on felony charges has all the marks of being lengthy, protracted and bitter.

In a motion filed with the court today special prosecutor Brian Wice accused Paxton’s counsel of using five subpoenas filed last week as a fishing expedition for the discovery of information prosecutors insist is irrelevant to his case.
