Gov. Perry is ordered to attend upcoming pre-trial hearings
Special prosecutor says "There's been a couple of dishes thrown into the sink.”
The judge handling Gov. Perry's felony case said on Monday
that Perry will be required to personally appear in court for two upcoming pre-trial
hearings. Perry’s attorneys are working to undermine the case in multiple ways
and Judge Bert Richardson said that
he will consider their arguments within the next month.
Richardson did not require
Perry to attend the hearing on Monday.
On Oct. 31, the court is
scheduled to address the request from Perry's lawyers for a transcript of the
grand jury testimony. His legal team has said the judge should be able to
review the secret testimony so that he can fairly evaluate their requests to dismiss
the case.
